Frequently asked questions
The tips, the record, your membership and staying in control, all answered.
The tips
What is TipJarr?
TipJarr is an Australian ratings service for greyhound racing. Every morning a statistical model rates every race on the national card, and members get the tips, by email and in their member portal. Members see every result. 18+ only; not available in South Australia.
What do I get each day?
Up to three greyhound pairs our model rates most likely to both finish in the top four, emailed between 10:30 and 11:45am Melbourne time and shown in your member portal. Each tip names the race, the jump time in your state's time, both dogs and their boxes, and the model's estimated chance that both run top four.
How are the pairs chosen?
Each morning the model rates every Australian greyhound race on the card, using form, sectional times and race history from hundreds of thousands of past starts. It works out the chance of every pair in every race both running top four, and the three strongest across the day, one per race, become the tips.
Are there days without tips?
Yes. If no race meets our bar, we email you to say so rather than send a weak pair.
Do you tell me what to bet?
No. TipJarr publishes ratings, the model's estimated chances. It isn't betting advice, and we never quote prices. What you do with a rating is up to you.
What if a dog is scratched?
If one of the pair is scratched, or the field drops below six runners, the tip is recorded as void. A void counts as neither a hit nor a miss.
Results and the record
Do you publish your results?
Every tip goes on the record once its race has run, including the misses and the voids, and members see the full record and trend in their portal. The public results page isn't open yet.
How accurate are the tips?
The chances are model estimates, not certainties: even a strongly rated pair will sometimes miss. Members see every result so they can judge the record for themselves, and past results are no promise of future ones.
Membership and billing
How much does it cost?
TipJarr has two ways to pay. The monthly membership is A$89 a month, about 99c a tip at three tips a day, and you can cancel online any time. A 3-tip pack is A$9.99 once (A$3.33 a tip), with no subscription.
What is a tip pack?
A one-off payment for the next morning's 3 tips, by email and in your member portal. Nothing renews. A pack always gives you tips that aren't void: if a scratching voids one, we send you another on a following morning.
What happens if a greyhound is scratched?
A tip is void when a scratching takes out one of our two dogs or leaves fewer than six runners, because there was no top-four bet to place. Scratchings are outside our control. On the monthly membership a void tip is part of the service and isn't replaced. In a tip pack we replace it with another tip on a following morning.
Is there a lock-in contract?
No. Membership is month to month. Cancel online from your portal at any time and you keep your tips until the end of the period you've paid for.
How do I pay?
By card, through Stripe's secure checkout. Your full card number never reaches us: we only see your card's brand, last four digits and expiry date, and our copies of those are deleted after 90 days.
Can I get a refund?
Our refund policy sets out when we refund and how.
Who can join?
Adults aged 18 and over who live in Australia. TipJarr isn't available to residents of South Australia. You need a verified email address, because tips are only ever sent to the address you've verified.
Can I earn by recommending TipJarr?
Yes. Affiliates receive 30% of each membership payment a member they refer makes, excluding GST, for as long as that member stays. It is free to join, with no membership needed.
Your account
Where are the tips sent?
Only to the email address you've verified, so a tip can't be sent somewhere by mistake. You can change your address any time in your portal.
What's in the member portal?
Today's tips as soon as they're out, how the last three tips ran, every result, your record and trend, and your settings and billing.
Can I pause the emails?
Yes, under Tip emails in your portal. You can still see each day's tips in the portal while you're a member.
